If someone was to go onto a newsgroup or forum, and show that one or
more of the opinions held by the majority of the regulars were wrong,
how do you think the regulars would be more likely to react?

1. The Scientific Reaction: "You're right, you know.  We've been wrong
all this time.  Thank you for showing us that we were wrong, and we
will of course change our viewpoints accordingly.  That, after all, is
how science works, and if everyone had too much of an ego to ever
admit to being wrong, everyone would still think that the Sun went
round the Earth."

2. The Lying, Agenda-Driven, Arrogant Troll Reaction: "Fuck off, you
troll."

It's a difficult one, but I reckon the answer is probably 2.  What do
you think?  (Let me guess: "Fuck off, you troll", along with its many
variants, such as "Don't feed the troll" (it's all that "_" the
useless twat ever says), "Plonk" and all the other old favourites.)
