Shedded bliss
I have finally got my new 8'x10' shed. How did I manage to fettle the
bikes without it?

URLs can't have spaces - try

http://www.downie-geo.demon.co.uk/Images/Shed%20panorama_3.jpg

instead.

FF3 seems quite happy to accept (or rather implicitly insert) the space
character.

It's new, give it time.

Very nice. Was it expensive? (I'm looking for a shed exactly that size
and am shocked at the prices now)

Expensive is relative. It cost about the same as a nice bike. I need to
store and work on 6 cycles so for me its well worth it.

I got a heavy-duty shed from Tunstall Garden Buildings
http://www.tgbuildings.co.uk/acatalog/Heavy_Duty_Style_Garden_Shed.html

I can recommend Tunstall. I got a small shed a few years ago from them
and was really pleased with the quality and the efficiency of the way
they erected it. This new shed is nearly as good- the door hinges and
fastening aren't quite the same quality but are OK. Their shipping is a
bit expensive. I found that phoning them up and chatting helped get a
small discount.

Cheers

What, with my own bike shed being 20' x 18' and my railway shed
being 27' x 17'?

uk.rec.sheds, for all your sheddy needs.

When I posted photos of my new shed about a year ago it was described by
some as unnaturally neat and tidy. They should see it now (ahem)!

But mail/news clients will tend to truncate the URL at the space, so
clicking on it doesn't work.

Most will allow you to highlight the text, then, in Agent for example,
a right-click allows a "Launch URL" option.

Name looks a bit VXRN-ish. Mmmm. I wonder what VXRN would call a
shed? Perhaps the Jesse?

I see a Lidl unicycle on one wall. I strongly recommend fitting bigger
pedals.

No floor, no window, cold and noisy and it would be a pain to insulate -
not a proper shed.

I got one of theirs too as a pre-requisite to building a new bike. I
erected it myself (easy) but they custom-made all the bits for me to
my spec. Heavy duty with a flat roof so the kids can play on it, no
windows so the ivy doesn't try to grow inside like it did the last
one. Very pleased with it I am.

It is clearly new 'cos it isn't overflowing with junk yet! You must post a
picture of the same view in a years time!

But I just wish I had room for such luxury -- but it would have to be locked,
bolted and barred round here -- and fastened to the ground so that it didn't
walk overnight!

Green with envy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No window? Nowhere for the checked curtains? Definitely not a proper
shed.

Mine still truncates it if I do "Open with web browser" or "Copy this

My first tip is to change the pedals! They're too narrow and
ridiculously slippery. I found it difficult to ride with them, and I've
been unicycling for 14 years.

Remember that you have 3 points of contact with a unicycle, and all of
your control is applied through those 3 points of contact. The quality
of those contact points makes an enormous difference to the rideability
of the unicycle. Two of those contact points are the pedals, and if
they have no grip then you've got a problem.

Other than that, I'm going to be lazy and direct you to
http://tinyurl.com/4wm6ct (a Google Groups search for tips I've posted
here in the past).

Thanks Danny

I'll try changing to a pair of off-road flats I have kicking around.
Maybe that will make it a bit easier.
