The Enigma of Tom Sherman
Tom Sherman and I are both essentially responders. We know how to answer
others with either information or put downs, whatever the occasion calls
for. We are not originators of posts by and large.
I understood Ed Gin from his very first post to ARBR. He was clearly a
criminal scum bag of the worst sort and that is how I reacted to him.
JimmyMac was a poor lost soul who did not have a clue about how to treat
criminal human trash like Ed Gin. However, I do not hold him nearly as
culpable as I do Tom Sherman. Why? Because Tom Sherman is intelligent and
yet he stood by silently and let the criminal vandal troll destroy ARBR.
Tom Sherman was the mainstay of this newsgroup from the beginning as far as
I could tell. It was up to him to defend this newsgroup, but instead he took
a powder. The posts between Ed Gin and myself quickly resorted to nothing
but the most vile name calling. The only one who could have brought some
order to the insanity was Tom Sherman. I simply do not understand such
cowardice in the face of the enemy.
Courage is the greatest of all the virtues because it makes all the other
virtues possible. It was a total no brainer to know how to respond to the
criminal vandal troll Ed Gin and yet Tom Sherman did not care enough to
respond. That is why he is an enigma - at least to me.

>> Another Charisma malfunction??? For a brief span, Ed Dolan abandoned
his persona and we engaged in a hospitable exchange as I again
sincerely attempted to provide him with some computer assistance and
this is the crap I get in return ... fallacious regurgitated
nonsense??? I see that Dolan is once again back in form. Ed, thanks
for revealing yourself for what and who you are ... a scoundrel. Yep,
the myth monger is at it again ... dishing up another helping of
unsubstantiated opinion without so much as a shred of corroborating
evidence. Those who offer the most resistance when their wisdom or
authority are challenged are often the very same persons who have an
inherent inability to establish valid grounds to discredit others.
That is a virtual portrait of Dolan, but if you read between the
lines, you will note that his main complaint is that no one and
especially Tom and I have bothered to post anything and that kind of
sucks the very meaning of life out of Dolan. In retrospect, perhaps I
should have remained mute as no response would have likely been more
effective. - Jim McNamara
All anyone has to do is go back into the Google archives of ARBR from a few
years ago and see for oneself what took place. However, this is not for the
weak of stomach. All you will see there is human behavior at its worst.
Frankly, I do not recommend it, but if you want to know what you are talking
about, then that is what you will have to do.

The question is ever present on our minds here at ARBR - who killed Cock
Robin? Some will say I did it by my contentious posts. I say it was Ed Gin,
aided and abetted by JimmyMac and Tom Sherman. Mr. Sherman has a genius for
absenting himself when the going gets rough. Silence in the face of the
enemy can kill a newsgroup just as easily as the most rambunctious posts.
The truth of the matter is that ARBR was once a cozy little club for the
cognoscenti. It was enough to make any normal person puke. I took them all
on and gave the place a good cleansing. If all they wanted to do is chat
with one another about the weather, then let them get their own Chat Room.
Usenet is not for that!

I don't believe it and I never will! JimmyMac is the expert on Ed Gin, not
you.

So what is a few years in the long and dishonorable history of ARBR?

Yawn away old slumberer. When the chips were down, you were found wanting
and you and I both know that. Hells Bells, even JimmyMac knows that. When
you are a mainstay of a newsgroup, you are NOT free to take powders when the
going gets rough.

JimmyMac is typical of the type. When push comes to shove he resorts to
sexual innuendo. This is always the hallmark of a bankrupt mind. I knew
hundreds of guys like him when I was in the Navy. They come from working
class backgrounds where references to piss, shit and fuck is what they grew
up with. They have all the culture of an illiterate slob.
They fancy themselves intelligent because they know all the dirty little
words that their fathers taught them. In JimmyMac's case, I definitely see
some input from his mother too. He is more to be pitied than anything else.
What he yearns for above all else in life is to be a superior being like Ed
Dolan the Great, but alas, such a state of grace will ever elude him. He was
doomed from the moment of his lowly birth. You have to be to the manor born.

All Jim McNamara ever had to do was to tell Ed Gin to go fuck himself, but
instead he took the bastard seriously and remonstrated with him. That is
what comes of playing the role of a fool. Unfortunately, what they were
doing to one another took down the newsgroup ARBR.
> It just must really suck to be you.
It would certainly suck to be me if I took any of this the least bit serious
like you do. But I don't. I am laughing constantly as I post my messages to
all the nuts and screwballs like you who infest unmoderated Usenet
newsgroups.
Positively nothing can ever be accomplished on an unmoderated newsgroup.
Maybe in the the early days it made some sense, but it doesn't anymore. I
would like to see Usenet down away with. It is a remnant from the early days
of the Internet and has now become only a vehicle for fools like you and me.
Note how even Tom Sherman has given up on it. Anyone with any brains has
long since left Usenet.
