achilles tendon again
On the plus side - Mr Wafflycat is now plaster free. Hurrah! On the down
side, he's been given no advice on physiotherapy apart from - well... take
it easy for a while... don't cycle yet... you might in a few weeks or so.
But that's it.
So any of the previously so afflicted in urc, what physio did you do?

Rest, mostly.
;)
Start with the most basic movements, moving slowly and carefully
without stressing _anything_ Stress and pain are _not_ what's needed
now. Try not to make too many suddden movements or do too much at a
time. It's amazing what the body can take but in the long run, very
slowly and very carefully, heals a tendon far better than short sharp
shocks.

Absolutely no bending down to pick anything off the floor,
Take it very carefully on everything else.
Maintain (or restore) flexibility by moving the ankle while raised,
not against resistance.
Only when that is pain free move on to some light resistance training
(those rubber resistance bands are quite good, and come in different
colour-coded strengths).
Only increase load/resistance when the exercise becomes pain free at
the lower level.
It may help to wear "lifts" or shoes with a slight heel for a while,
once he's moving around more (but not too long, or it'll be hell
stretching the achilles back to it's proper length).
Hope that's helpful, and best wishes for a speedy recovery (but don't
rush it).

I have a set of these that Mr Waffly could borrow if you wish. They are
expensive to buy but are light so postage would be cheap. Drop me an email
if you want them - but bear in mind answer will be delayed while touring the
Isle of Man for a week.
