That's what helmets are for ;-)

I find riding over them on corners more troublesome.

That struck me on Saturday as I watched a load of lads "encouraging"
them out of trees with sticks.  Most had bikes with them and most of
them had lids: probably more likley to save them a headache doing that
than coming off the bikes...

Response of council official when it was pointed out that she had
put a cycle path alongside a golf course and thus anyone using it
might be struck on the head by a golf ball, "cyclists should be
wearing helmets".

No, the squirrels have all been pushed out by tree-rats.
Squirrels were too shy to be throwing stuff at you, whereas the
tree-rats take the piss.
