Somewhere in what passes for my memory, I seem to recall you had a
small part in the programme that ousted Dick Barton from the airwaves.
I read it on the internet, so it must be true.

Was it as Christine Barford's son?

Yup. I played Terry Barford until about 1979 ish ... a long while ago.

Dunno, I guess so. IIRC I was only in it on and off for about
three/four years. I can only recall moving in with my Father and can't
recall anything whatsoever about my Mother!

No, it would have been as George Barford's son. Christine Barford
previously Johnson nee Archer married George long after "you" left.

I was gathering information relating to a post there. Today is Peter
Johnson's birthday. He is Christine Cardboard's adopted son. I thought
paul - xxx had played him, but wanted to check.

Simple really.

That's right ... it's a long while ago and I did a lot of other plays
and similar stuff, and it gets harder to recall details ... ;)

Got a boxfull of scripts etc somewhere that I might dig through again
some day.

Or not ... ;)

Further to this ... I've thought about it overnight and IIRC I started
playing Terry in about 1974 and played him for a few years, can't
recall exactly.

I was a teenager brought from Leeds to live with George Barford, my dad
the gamekeeper, to help him. It was also to help me get away from the
City and it's supposedly bad influences. I remember getting the part
because the actor who played GB, Graham Roberts, had previously
produced and played in a number of plays in which I had also played and
he suggested me for the part!
