I am from the US looking at going to the UK to climb and I am trying
to find a good place to go any ideas?

The UK has a very wide range of rock-climbing opportunities, some of them
specific to where you are in the country.  For example, many of us on this
Newsgroup consider the Gritstone Edges of the Peak District to offer the
finest climbing in the world.  Others prefer limestone, sea cliffs, winter
climbing...

Where are you in the US, and what kind of climbing do you like / would like
to try?  If you are coming to the UK anyway, then your choice of venue may
be limited by time and distance.  If you are coming here specifically to
climb, then you'd need to do some homework beforehand, to arrive in the best
location for your needs.  I'm in Cheshire in north-west England, so the
Peak, Lake District and North Wales are all within an hour of two's driving.

As Sean mentioned in reply to your previous post, there is much less traffic
here than there used to be.  You could try joining the forums at UKClimbing
[ http://www.ukclimbing.com/ ] which see a lot more activity.   There will
be plenty of advice available (though you may find the mannerisms there a
little obscure at first).

If he was coming specifically to climb, I'd kind of expect him to have
something in mind.  Maybe I'm wrong about that.  Here's a top tip Lars: if
you're looking for sunny sport climbing, this is the wrong part of Europe.
