Has anyone had experience of using motorhome covers? Any problems using them? I am thinking of getting one for my old campervan this winter. Its a converted van so got metal body. The covers I am looking at on ebay are breathable types. I think it would be better to keep it covered as the van is getting on in age and I can't find a garage for rent big enough in height to take it. Graham
I used to use a breathable cover to cover a car and a motorbike I had, They seem to work pretty well. Only problem I found is if you don't get them tied down well enough and taunt enough then the cover can move, this in time will rub away at your paint work . Or even rub themselves away. The particular model I have is quite a soft fabric, lacking in "internal" strength. If the cover is left loose in an area, in my experience it can rub and chaff ( as over wing mirrors) and it then begins to tear apart. I think the secret is to ensire it is strapped over at regular intervals - and of course is well fitted to the vehicle for size.
