Peak District and the recent weather
My wife and I are booked in a couple of sites in the Peak District in a few
weeks time - Packhorse Farm Matlock and Clover Fields Buxton. Anyone know
how these areas have been effected by the rain we have had recently? What
are some of the trails up in the hills like after this sort of deluge? We
are wondering whether we ought to postpone our trip until later. Many thanks

Have you tried ringing the campsites? Failing that
http://www.peakdistrict.org/ the Peak District NAtional Park Authority.

We could be back to global warming by then.
Aren't we all supposed to be baking in unheard of temperatures at some point
this year?

Thanks for the link. I sent on of the sites an email last week and have had
no reply. I phoned the other one up tonight and was told it was dry, warm
and sunny. They also mentioned they were 2000' up.

Not necessarily. The correct phrase is global climate change, NOT
global warming. The point is that changes are happening, not that it's
getting warmer.

erm I think it is; but only on *average*, so you shouldn't expect it to
be exactly 0.3C warmer this time next year, rather expect Wilder Weather

It's not the message I was getting from the tabloid frenzy peddlers after a
nice weekend camping at Easter.
I was expecting record breaking temps, drought, bees dieing out and all
manner of shite.
frankly I was looking forward to getting out in the tent more, instead there
have been hurricanes and monsoon.
It is approx 7 deg C tonight's low here, our heating is on.

It is approx 7 deg C tonight's low here, our heating is on.

no reply. I phoned the other one up tonight and was told it was dry, warm
and sunny. They also mentioned they were 2000' up.

Not necessarily. The correct phrase is global climate change, NOT
global warming. The point is that changes are happening, not that it's

erm I think it is; but only on *average*, so you shouldn't expect it to
be exactly 0.3C warmer this time next year, rather expect Wilder Weather

It's not the message I was getting from the tabloid frenzy peddlers after a
nice weekend camping at Easter.
I was expecting record breaking temps, drought, bees dieing out and all
manner of shite.
frankly I was looking forward to getting out in the tent more, instead there
have been hurricanes and monsoon.
It is approx 7 deg C tonight's low here, our heating is on.
