WHO calls for 'close' watch on flu in farmers, animals   
Pat's Note: It looks like the WHO have decided to keep a closer watch
on their veterinary colleagues' activities.

It's about time.

The last time the OIE did anything worthwhile was when the former
president complained about Britain failing to make PMWS - Circovirus
notifiable in 2000+

It still is not notifiable. 

If circovirus in cattle reaches Texas, there will be a lot of
extradited vets sitting in US gaols regretting their behaviour.
