This could be a quote from Burkie making a point with his customary
precision.

"Now we can reconstruct how outbreaks occur with a level of precision
far beyond what we've had," he said. 

"If you used this in the recent e-coli outbreak," he added, "you'd be
able to track it back to the exact pig that pooped on the spinach."

In fact, it is from a fascinating piece on the science that tracked
down the source of the US antrax terrorist attacks.

The world is a small place. Technology not available at the time can
tract the progress of disease about the world.

No wonder Britain won't test its pigs. It does not dare release
results that presumably wll show the origins of mutated PMWS and
possibly current MRSA outbreaks.

Why else would they refuse?
