Stop the bugs
THE Madrid plane crash left 154 people dead and horrified the world.
Imagine the reaction if that was happening EVERY WEEK here . . .
Planes would be grounded. Airports closed. Royal Commissions hurriedly
set up to find the cause.
Yet the equivalent of 54 Madrids occur every year in English and Welsh
hospitals because of the superbug C.difficile.
The infection appeared on 8,324 death certificates in 2007 almost
2,000 more than the previous year.
Other countries such as Holland and Norway have almost eradicated this
killer through simple measures like zero-tolerance for hospital staff
who dont wash their hands. ...
Pat's Note:
Holland admitted that their pigs and pig people had MRSA four years
ago, since they screen pig and pork workers at the hospital door.
The Norwegians only seemed to get MRSA when they sent their people to
British hospitals for treatment. They came back with MRSA. But they
only got PMWS in their pigs fairly recently.
Now that is MRSA where there is a proven link and Britain has taken no
action.
Now C.Diff is different, but the most dangerous strain of C.Diff 027
is also found in pigs, sick pigs. Natuirally Britain has done
absolutely nothing.
