Two more human epidemics possibly linked to pigs
Pat's Notes. North American correspondents, watching the situation in
Britain, have drawn my attention to two more current human epidemics
that may be linked to pigs and/or pork and consequently could be
linked to mutated MRSA - circovirus epidemics given the locations.
There is a nasty listeria epidemic traced back to a slaughterhouse
that has got the lawyers collecting clients in Ontario, where we know
that PMWS has been at epidemic levels for a couple of years and both
MRSA and C.Diff are hitting the hospitals.

CBC News
More than 1,100 people have contacted a law group that has launched a
class action lawsuit against Maple Leaf Foods, the firm's lead lawyer
said, as a nationwide outbreak of listeriosis linked to the company's
Toronto meat plant continues to grow.
There are now 29 cases of listeriosis, including 15 deaths, linked to
tainted meat from a Maple Leaf Foods meat-packing plant in Toronto,
the Public Health Agency of Canada said Tuesday afternoon."
oooOOOooo
There is an ecoli outbreak in Oklahoma. The strain is also carried by
pigs and a comparison to MRSA is made.

...."Scientists have expressed serious concern that infections from
antibiotic resistant E. coli bacteria are spreading into the greater
population and several countries also now report cases of
antibiotic-resistant E. coli. Researchers compare the E. coli threat
to the worldwide problem of community-acquired
MRSAmethicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureusan
antibiotic-resistant staph developing resistance to the last drug of
choice."
