Indeed. Try explaining it to him more slowly.

"concentrating on" are the words you are searching for.

I'm glad you mentioned that <chuckle> I was invited a couple of times,
but thought there might be trouble with Rome. That is the only
organisation that I actually belong to so I have to be careful. One
cannot be excomunicated for trouser trouble, that is the perogative of
politicians.

I left Rotary years ago and all the Rotarians were Masons too, so it
would not have been new and invigorating company, just the same old
lot in a different guise.

"Some of my best friends are Masons" and fully realise their lucky
escape.

Rotary I actually approve of and unlike most left footers have nothing
against the Masons.

But organisations are not for me. I value my freedom too much. Which
is perhaps why I concentrate so much.

I am planning some quite dramatic and highly unusual changes once I've
got this whole matter being properly and irreversibly progressed.

I will make sure you are fully appraised at the right time

That's true, you spend most of our time trying not to touch anything.
Definitely tricky.

Actually, I'm concentrating hard, trying to keep my usual cheery but
explosive disposition well under control.

I can't really allow a sense of humour to bubble though when children
are dying for want of truth. That is a very considerable strain.

But now I'm winning through a long difficult and very unpleasant
struggle is the wrong moment to tell me to take my ball home.
