Gordon Brown's holiday plans and the mapping of MRSA
This is the end of Gordon Brown's holiday plans (shush - the Sandlings
in Suffolk)
...and the end of the devious plot to photograph of him admiring a
rare high health, pampered outdoor pig farm claiming to be typical of
the bulk of Britain's pigs.
He will have to go back to New England, map allowing.

Going abroad on holiday? Part 2
HealthMap is ingenious.
Based on media stories from a range of sources, disease alerts are
automatically placed on a map.
So it's useful for a global view of disease outbreaks.
But you can also zoom in to a particular country, or to limit the view
to a particular disease.
So you could use it to track the latest news on outbreaks of C.diff
and MRSA in the UK. It's easy to get through to the original news
stories in just a couple of clicks.
Try out HealthMap here: http://www.healthmap.org/en

Pat's further note: No honestly, its not a set-up. The blog site is
real, although the map does not work.
Perhaps it it just as well. As we all know people who map the spread
of disease in Britain can get themselves in a lot of trouble.
That includes Britain's bent vets.
