Companies House Monitor Service
Companies House have introduced a "Monitor Service" within the
WebCHeck service. They have always had a monitor service but it is
supposed to be easier to organise now:
"Customers can pay to monitor a company for a year and receive email
notifications when documents are filed at Companies House. Customers
then have the choice to order the document images through the new
Filing History page."
I called them up expecting the worst! Yes, you have to pay by debit/
credit card each time. The fee is 50p per company. I would imagine
most people would want to put a big list of companies onto the service
and then afterwards do them individually. This is ridiculously
inefficient. I pay the £15 annual return fees on a monthly basis but
Companies House don't seem to have thought of paying on a monthly
basis.

This surprises me - I thought all that kind of thing could be put on account
(assuming you have one, which you appear to...).
That said, my understanding is that almost all the users of the monitoring
service monitor only themselves - to spot fraudulent filings etc. (which is
very wise). So they're unlikely to run an account.
Personally, I have always found CH very good - and also responsive to
suggestions / comments. Why not send a friendly, constructive letter to
their Cust Serv Mgr?

They have different accounts for different services and can't mix
them!

I'd still prefer to pay 50p by internet banking than enter my personal
and card details online.
I am happy to pay 50p per company client plus a few other company's of
interest - eg. Hull City - so I know what is happening.

I have done. Unfortunately, when I have raised the same point in the
past they haven't changed anything.
