Is this a con .. :)
A 'friend' of mine knows this ex army guy with brain damage. His army
buddy own a house and wants to sell it for cash. My 'friend' arranged a
buyer for £220,000 and is only giving his buddy £80,000. He's promised
me £2,000 when the deal goes through. Trouble is the lawyer pulled out
and it'll cost another £400.00 to hire another one. Question is, should
I lend my 'friend' the money .. :)

If the ex-army guy is not compos mentis then he cannot sell his house,
except by way of the Court of Protection. The contract wouldn't stand
and the £80k would be lost - never mind the £400.
