corporation tax - carry back loss
My company had a trading loss in the period covered by the return I
just submitted online - I'll call it 2007 below.
The computation carried forward the loss under S393(1).

I had a change of plan since I'll be doing little or no trading in the
coming years and now want to carry the loss back to the previous year
(2006) under S393A(1).

I've done all the computations, I just need to know how to make the
amendment/claim.

I am in the process of amending the 2007 return online to set the loss
against non-trading profits under S393A in the same period - that is
OK, just neet to sumbit it when I'm sure.

But for days I've tried to amend the 2006 return but when I click
"Amend your Return" I repeatedly get a message "System Busy
Unfortunately, Online Tax Return - CT is not available at this
time..."

Assuming I cannot amend the 2006 return should I do all or some of the
following?
-attach a computation to the amended 2007 return showing the S393A
claim
-tick "repayment due for an earlier period"
-attach an amended CT calculation for 2006?
-anything else?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Plug.
p.s. I should call the tax office but I'm working in an environment
where I can't make a private call in work hours so thought I'd try you
guys first.

I would send the tax return and tax computations along with a covering
letter. Wait until HMRC get it wrong and then hopefully you will be
able to phone them and talk them through what they did wrong.
