BTCC - in memory of DanB
Whenever I watch BTCC, it reminds me of Dan and what he always used to
say..

Matt Neal is a dirty, talentless twat. Proved it yet again just now
taking out Rob Collard with a dirty move.

Heh, he was right though. Matt Neal used to be cool in his Nissan. BTCC
was just better overall in those days though.

Another Dan memory today: was round at my mum's house earlier today and
my sister came round to announce she'd just ordered a Clio 197, a Cup
though not an R27.

I find myself looking through Autotrader at French stuff, although I have
narrowed the filter to diesel.

Remember, just say NO.

It was around this time last year that I and some other members of this
parish went to knockhill to see BTCC.

ISTR Dan was invited but was a wuss and decided not to come.

I was about to launch into some full-scale derision via the gift of MSN
upon my return when it transpired that in fact his legs had stopped
working over the course of that weekend.

I felt like a bit of a Matt Neal. (c:

I enjoyed my day at the racing. My next door neighbour has an ordinary
Clio 197. It's red but it still makes me think of Dan.

'Rubbing is racing' ;-)

That, and I missed it yesterday - completely forgot it was on, so will
be recording the highlights later on ITV1... assuming I remember to do
that.

"Cheesey Peas, anyone?"

"Ah no, Ted, that was cheesy chips."

Now and again I see a V6 Clio around these parts - forget exactly where, but
I've definitely seen it more than once (even less of an excuse for
forgetting where, but anyhoo....) and I often wonder if the owner knew Dan
(it's got a Cliosport.net sticker on, so they almost certainly did in some
respect, even if it was just online).

Indeed, but just driving into someone and staying put for 3 or 4 secs,
ruining their front wheel, tyre and suspension and pushing them off
the road isn't. It's being a dirty, talentless twat. i.e. A Matt Neal.
I'm surprised he didn't get a penalty, but he finished well down the
order.

"Good" crash in race 3... no penalty, and none deserved IMO, unlike
the MN incident.

Indeed we did.

Odd how Dan infected our lives, his unique no-nonsense outlook on life still
jumps to mind from day to day.
