IIRC I too could have got a first if I hadn't missed a mid-term exam due to
being engrossed in Diagnosis Murder. Meh, 2:1 is still good though. I'm
told employees prefer it anyway because it shows you're not a total nerd,
but might have some personality too. Sounds like crap made up from someone
who was bitter about not getting a first TBH, but it's something to tell the
guys down the pub!

Anyways, well done you!

Of course a first nowdays from a former polytechnic is worth ooohhh
about what a 2:2 was worth in my day.

Honest.

Umm well done Depresion BTW.

If you just miss a first, (ie, get an average of 69), a lot of unis award
still award a first. DAMHIKIJD. Read your unis paperwork on grades.

As my boss puts it.
A 2:1 is a thinking mans degree.
A 2:2 is a drinking mans degree.

I think I still have the original mammoth-hide parchment with my degree
charcoaled into the surface, somewhere.

Well this thread has finally shown up on my news server, I haven't been
ignoring you lot. The final classification is based on a numerical score that
we don't actually see so it's still all in the air but the suggestion in the
course handbook is that I need 6 A- or above to get a first. I could just do
with them pulling there fingers out.

It seems like I can't even add up right as I've had the classification
through as a 1st.

Bugger all, it's an engineering degree.

You're probably right there... My sister has an engineering degree, but
she has just obtained a radiography degree. She now has what I thought
(for a bloke) would be the best job in the world, in that she looks at
breasts all day. But she says they're usually manky old women's tits and
I wouldn't like it lol

Hehehe. At work, we handle X-ray film from hospitals on the islands.
It goes back and forth as freight and is marked for the attention of the
breast screening unit at the local hospital.

It's referred to not very euphemistically as "the boobie pictures".

We all have this romantic idea that it's the beautifully photographed
breasts of nubile young ladies but you've just driven the reality home
that its probably just manky old womens, and probably mens, tits.
