Does it feel at all like a 300bhp/400nm (295lbs/ft) car, that lurches to 60
in just under 7 seconds? Or is it a case of "Oh, I'm doing 120, I better
slow down..." ? To be fair the performance figures aren't bad at all
considering they weigh over 1800kg with a driver on board, dread to think
how much they weigh when the, no doubt huge, fuel tank is full! I bet you
can get over £100 of fuel in it these days can't you? Although, PeteM once
said to me the best engines to drive are petrols where the bhp and lbs/ft
are nearly the same hehe :-)
I looked up the performance figures cos I was just interested as Lord Doug
had been talking to me about his mates S8 (which in earlier 340bhp was only
0.3s faster to 60, and only had 40bhp-7lbs/ft more). Even the later S8s
with 360bhp were only 0.5s faster to 60 than the humble A8 4.2 Quattro Auto
TimoMobile :-)
Just as a matter of interest Timo, on the off chance - have you ever taken
it to the 155 limiter? If so, did it actually exist? Because on Top Gear
etc it's often suggested Audis go well beyond where the limiter should be -
TG RS6 review for example, not the new V10 job, the previous 450bhp one,
Clarkson mentions doing 170 on their runway!

Heh, that would be my mate's S8. He's been banding about that it has
380bhp and that it is Turbocharged. I've just bothered my arse to read
about it and you're right Dan, on paper it's not that much more
impressive than a normal 4.2 V8.
However, my mate's is still amusingly brisk. It costs about £90 to
fill. Timo's is no doubt similar.

Well, these days it can cost noticeably more than 90 quid to fill (it's
got a 90l tank). But then again, that'll get you about 500 miles of
driving...

I don't need to email that to you...
Seen the bit under the heading that says "no reserve"?

:-O
Taking a bit of a risk, aren't you?
Not exactly the most financially attractive of vehicles in the current
climate. :-S

Yes and no. If it doesn't work at this price I can always bump up the
price but I'm more interested in selling it to reduce the number of
vehicles so I have to take a hit on price.

Indeed. Hence the low starting price.

thrown off EBay...

No, that's not what I meant. What I meant was that sometimes I get the
price wrong and the car appears to be too cheap, so people assume it's a
steaming pile. So if it doesn't sell I'll put it back on with a reserve
or a higher starting price to "suggest" that it's a better car.

You're too generous :)

Ok, ok, if that's the case, I'll give you £400 :-)

Ah... but I think it *might* possibly sell, for the start price. ;-)
