The 207 isn't as closely related to the 206 as some think.
As I understand it, rather than being what appears at first glance to
be a reskinned 206, the 207 is based on the floorpan of the
abomination that is the Peugeot 1007.
A minor difference, but the fuel filler on the 207 is on the other
side to that of the 206.
The 207 is known for being a fair bit heavier as well, meaning that at
launch given some models used essentially the same engines as the 206,
it got panned for being sluggish by comparison.

They're all on the same pan - C2/C3/C3 Picasso/1007/206/207. Sure,
there's various different generations and dimensions of the platform -
I'd have thought (based purely on dimensions and age) that the 207 had
more in common with the C3 Pic, with the 206 being "the original", the C2
and 1007 a slightly trimmed-down version, and the C3 coming somewhere in
the middle.
In purely "consumer" terms, though, the relationship is... well,
irrelevant. They are what they are. The bits you don't really "relate to"
are similar, the bits you do are different.
