hyundai amica - o2 sensor and other things
Appreciate some feedback on any of this...

1) wife's Amica is hesitating when accelerating and (I asked before)
does look like some sensor going west. As I can't get a workshop
manual for it (doesn't seem to be one), would it be "the thing" to ask
a dealer to run the diagnostics and get a printout? I'm ok for
changing the thing (s) once I know which one it is! Changing by trial
and error is going to be very expensive. I guess the worse is I get
the verbal 2 finger salute as they prob. want to do the work
themselves.

2) This car seem to have 2 o2 sensors. They are placed about 6 inches
apart in the exhaust manifold. Are they *both* o2 sensors - or o2 +
something else?

3) So far the dealer seems like the only place for this cheapo car
spares (only done 16k miles - but is 8 years old! Any place I can get
cheaper parts (apart from the scrappy that is ) :-)

thanks

Check the wiring loom at the bulkhead going to the sensor on the inlet
manifold.... they were to tight and pulling out of the multiplug.

Hyundai were fixing these at service.

Most dealers will read the fault codes for you, but unless the engine
management has detected any errors, it's going to be pretty pointless.
It'll be more a case of finding somebody who knows how to use suitable
diagnostic kit to find the actual cause of the problem.

One pre-cat (used by the ECU for engine fuel mixture/running calculations),
and one post-cat (used by the ECU as part of the EOBD standard to ensure
emissions system performance is within limits)

Probably not. The problem with cars like these, is that there aren't enough
sold within the uk to warrant the aftermarket guys supplying parts for them.
You may be able to find a specialist though, who might save you some money
over using a dealer.
