I have have a crossflow based kit car with a type 9  5 speed box
fitted.

When I got the car it had a seized 1700 xflow installed with the type 9
and sierra starter (pre engaged). This engine was junked and a 1300
fitted for the summer.

I have just fitted a 1600 xflow to the car with the original gearbox
and starter but the starter keeps jamming and has now burned out.

I know the flywheel was designed for an inertia starter but it worked
ok on the 1300 and the 1700 before that. 

Any ideas?
