Flash for Trash - crypto-chavs driving expensive cars
There was once a time when you could drive next to a BMW, Porsche or
Mercedes and expect it to contain a mature driver who respected other
road users.
What happened?
Nowadays once luxury cars are becoming the home of gurning dickheads
in baseball caps with not two GCSE's to rub together pumping out
thumping basslines.

You need to go back further than that - 20 years ago these cars were being
driven by that era's equivalent of the silly haircut and wraparound
sunglasses combination.

Surely you mean 'Fatcha', to use the ghastly Estuary English vernacular of
many of her detractors? Anyway, how can the behaviour of today's
deliberately inconsiderate pikey criminal types be blamed on her?

Easy.
She and her government turned the UK from an
IMF-funded economic basket-case into a world where
even (some of) the lower orders can afford BMWs (etc).
There are some who will never forgive her for
unbundling the "working class" into two or more
distinct categories, thus wrecking their natural
constituency and forcing them to behave (what is
for them) unnaturally. And at the same time, she
"cheapened" the trappings of success which they
would have preferred to see reserved for trade
union leaders.
Let us leave aside the fact that driving a Merc or
BMW, tasteless as some might regard it, is not a
criminal action (yet).

The groups that Thatcher created what are they? The undeservedly rich
and the undeservedly poor, and public service a dirty word? If this is
progress and improvement, then why does it all seem so repellent,
ugly, and generally awful? Surely we should be happier, and we don't
seem to be. Even Iran seems to be more staunch than we are. Nobody
here seems to make anything, and the only business to be in is estate
agency, selling ugly apartments to ugly rich alien crooks.
What will we do when we've sold it all? Where will we be?

I couldn't respond to it if I hadn't read it. Obviously.

Again, I couldn't reply to it if I didn't understand it. You may wish
to differ.
On mature reflection, do you think that you managed to convey your
intended meaning adequately?

You need to go back further than that - 20 years ago these cars were being
driven by that era's equivalent of the silly haircut and wraparound

Surely you mean 'Fatcha', to use the ghastly Estuary English vernacular of
many of her detractors? Anyway, how can the behaviour of today's
deliberately inconsiderate pikey criminal types be blamed on her?

Easy.
She and her government turned the UK from an
IMF-funded economic basket-case into a world where
even (some of) the lower orders can afford BMWs (etc).
There are some who will never forgive her for
unbundling the "working class" into two or more
distinct categories, thus wrecking their natural
constituency and forcing them to behave (what is
for them) unnaturally. And at the same time, she
"cheapened" the trappings of success which they
would have preferred to see reserved for trade
union leaders.
Let us leave aside the fact that driving a Merc or
BMW, tasteless as some might regard it, is not a
criminal action (yet).

Easy.
She and her government turned the UK from an
IMF-funded economic basket-case into a world where
even (some of) the lower orders can afford BMWs (etc).
There are some who will never forgive her for
unbundling the "working class" into two or more
distinct categories, thus wrecking their natural
constituency and forcing them to behave (what is
for them) unnaturally. And at the same time, she
"cheapened" the trappings of success which they
would have preferred to see reserved for trade
union leaders.
Let us leave aside the fact that driving a Merc or
BMW, tasteless as some might regard it, is not a
criminal action (yet).

On mature reflection, do you think that you managed to convey your

deliberately inconsiderate pikey criminal types be blamed on her?
