Recommend a specialist in the NW of England...
Hi
I'm new here, as I am to the (not-so currently wonderful) world of
LPG!
I've recently been mad enough to buy an XJ40 Jag, with a 4-year-old
LPG conversion (a Voltran system, which I /think/ is a closed-loop,
mono-point injection system, fitted by a company in Birmingham).
Whilst running on gas, there is a /pronounced/ drop in power
(switching from petrol to gas on the motorway feels like it has
reached the end of a bungee rope!) and what feels like a repetitive
misfire at around 70mph in top gear (too busy worrying about my engine
to notice the rev counter!)
I've recently had the car serviced by a local, trustworthy garage -
the plugs were replaced and the HT leads, dizzy etc proclaimed
healthy, so I've come to the conclusion that it's likely to be the LPG
system requiring fettled and/or serviced (there were no receipts for
servicing of the LPG system), or a dodgy sensor (lambda? oxygen?).
Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated, but I think it's time a
specialist had a look at the old girl (who, incedently is running
beautifully on petrol).
TIA
Cheers
Jamesy
