From a 1987 Indespension catalogue:
1/2" studs on 4.5" or 114mm PCD: Triumph 2000/2.5; Marina van; Allegro;
Maxi; Princess; Saab 99.
?dia studs on 4.5" PCD 1100/1300
I knew I'd be glad I'd kept that catalogue - though it's worth keeping
just for the magnificent cover, which shows a gathering at a lake side,
where they'd gathered 20 people, 12 trailers, a horse, and a greyhound,
all posed "realistically", presumably to show how jolly useful trailers are.

I particularly like the man shovelling sand and bricks onto the grass,
and the bloke about to hit his mate over the head with a sledge hammer,
while the customer at the catering van looks on. Priceless.

Wonderful!
Has that motorbike actually got a towbar?

It's a concealed one, sir. Page 217 of the catalogue, near the bottom
of the page, just under "dog kennels".
And this was all pre-Photoshop, so someone really did gather all those
people and kit together, and make them hold daft poses. Did no-one have
the courage to point out to the MD that not all Friday afternoon,
post-good-lunch ideas should survive the harsh reality of Monday morning?
Perhaps the crag-visaged Alderman Foodbotham was also Chairman of
Indespension - "Look, lad, ah want that photo and ah'll have that bloody
photo - just get it done".

Elder gurgled happily, sounding much
like they were saying:

Even if you don't "know" the metric equivalent to 4.5", it's not
difficult to figure it out.
