Music in a Beetle
My wife has just bought a 1972 Beetle in 'as new' condition. One owner
from new and garaged it's whole life this 35 year old car has done just
38k miles.
She'd like to get some music but as the interior is so perfect doesn't
want to drill any holes so we're looking for some sort of mp3
player/dock/amp/speaker combo that could be sited under the front seat
(say) (ideally with a remote control) with power coming from the
cigarette lighter.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

ANY suitable head unit, build an MDF (or similar) housing to fit under
the seat, wire the power & earth in as appropriate. Isn't the battery in
a Beetle under the back seat? Would be easiest to permawire to there, I
think.

Check what voltage is available, weren't early '70s Beetle's still 6
Volt? Anyway, why bother, she won't be able to hear the music over the
noise from the engine! :~P

Radios were common by '72 so why not find a period fitting kit?
