Spotted in a House Clearance shop
I was having a browse in our local "quality junk" shop recently and found a
Parts List and an Owners Handbook for a Consul 375.
Is anybody looking out for these? I don't mind going back in and asking
about prices next time I am passing.

The OP isn't selling them, 'cos they're still in the shop. He doesn't
even know how much the shop want for them.
How does offering him 35 quid make sense under these circumstances?

What is it with you lot?
Hard work isn't isn't it?
I'll offer £35
I'll make it easy..
Chummy goes in, he asks how much, chummy gets an answer, nice chummy thinks
only £15.
Chummy thinks I'll make a couple of quid here.
Chummy gets in touch with interested buyer whom made a previous offer
Ok
It fucks-up
Chummy gets offer of £35
Chummy goes in, he asks how much, chummy gets an answer, £65
Chummy thinks I won't make a couple of quid here.
Chummy gets in touch with interested buyer whom made a previous offer and
say's no
Insert the name 'Jim' instead of 'chummy' if you like.

I say you're jumping the gun a bit. He offered to find out a price for
the readers of this group if anyone was interested. He didn't ask for
offers.

So little that, this weekend, I'm celebrating paying off my mortage. I'm
still in my early 30s.

Have you completely understood the concept of a second hand shop? -
they're not in the ebay marketplace, ffs. It's a physical shop, selling
junk.
Isn't it past your bedtime, anyway?

Maybe it was an oblique suggestion that he would pay Jim $35 for them,
regardless of how much less that he had to pay in order to acquire
them? It's not that unusual of a business proposition, at least not
on the planet that I'm from.
YMMV, obviously.

Yeah, mate, sure you have.
You can't even string a sentence together, let alone run a successful

Ooooh, haven't had a threat for a while.
Feel free to go knocking on the door of my registered site addy. You
won't find me there, though. Don't actually know who you'll find there
these days, given that the info. is 6 years out of date.
A bit more digging is in order, then.
Here's your starter for 10: I live in a different country these days.
That's all the help I'll give you for now.
Should I put the kettle on? - and is it one sugar or two?
Got to be blunt here - if this is your attitude, it throws further doubt
on your abilities to run a successful business. People with your
attitude generally don't get very far as most people prefer to deal with
people they get on with, not the kind of fuckwits that will make virtual
threats whilst hiding behind a keyboard.

If she really was, you wouldn't be admitting to this on a public forum.
Especially given the way bent coppers are treated in prison.
You do realise that every PNC check on a car has to be logged, don't
you? - and that unauthorised use is a disciplinary offence. If info.
from the PNC is passed onto a 3rd party in order to issue threats, it's
not only a sackable offence, but also carries a jail sentence.
But you're obviously full of shite.
> We'll see how loud your mouth is when you're raided.
Oooh, I'm quaking in my boots here.
What exactly would I be raided for? - this is assuming you did have
'contacts' that could pull it off.
You're a pathetic keyboard warrior, just shut the fuck up before you
make yourself look even more pathetic than you already have.

Excellent. And there's plenty of witnesses to testify in court that
your missus abused her powers which should see her nicely dishonourably
discharged and probably in court.

Chummy looks in this shop fairly often, knows the guy's price range, and
knows that there will be change from £35 regardless of the actual price
he asks for these particular books. Chummy wasn't out to make a profit,
he just wanted to help out a fellow classic car owner, so started
speculating about motives.
So Chummy isn't going to rush in and buy them until he has SuperMatey's
£35 quid in his hand. Because Chummy has no intention of being stuck
with books he doesn't want if the money doesn't come through, and isn't
daft enough to send them without getting paid for them first. (After
all, why is someone who is "a prolific investor in new technologies" and
who sneers at anything less than a Ferrari interested in a handbook for
a 1960s Ford? Could he perhaps be a *troll* I wonder?)
Tell me when you have put a cheque in the post SuperMatey and I will ask
the shop to put them to one side until it arrives.
Jim
PS. The most recent time I went into the shop, there were handbooks for
Austin A40 MkI/MkII and Simca 1300/1500 if anyone (apart from
SuperMatey) is interested.

You really have the comprehension abilities of a newt.
As SteveH said, what don't you understand about 'If someone's
interested I'll go and find out how much the shop wants for the
thing', he was not offering to act as a bid clearance house (nor as a
go between, no-doubt if someone was to email him, he would forward the
shops contact details) - never mind digging yourself into trouble,
you're drowning in a cess-pet of your own bull-shit.

And since I'm a mamber of the ACPO committee responsible for such minor
issues as traffic policing and the control of access to the PNC I shall
take great pleasure in ensuring that any evidence of misuse of the PNC
is brought to the attention of the appropriate people. The last copper
that thought it would be a good wheeze to pass details of vehicle
searches to a thid party ended up losing their job, doing time and
presumably ended up as a worthless derelict since no one has a use for a
bent copper.
I already have enough information from your post to identify you and
your wife (or I would if she existed, since it's obvious that the only
sex you have is with Mrs Palm). I guess it will trace back to Eastleigh.

You said he was to expect a call, if the drug squad aren't going to
phone, who is?
And why are you using a domain name that you do not own? Don't you
realise that BT will cancel your account for net abuse of that kind?
Well I suppose the answer is that you don't realise since you're a dope.

Tssk, gross libel, if Jerry were to complain to BT including that post
with full headers, using the address abuse@btinternet.com then your
account would be toast.
Giganews don't look too kindly on people trying to drag them into the
cesspit either.

Be fair though Steve, given where you are many English people wouldn't
need a mortgage to buy one.

Well, yeah, that's one of the reaons why we're doing it.
Only took this long 'cos of the fixed rate tie-ins.
Although, you say that, but in this particular area of Wales, the prices
are up to around the same level as similar properties in MK.
