A stranger saying hello
Hello Urpers

It has definitely been a long time since I've posted here. Probably about
5 years or more. I reached a point in my life a few years back when I had
that crazy year with so much going on; the craziness never ended but I
find myself in the eye of the storm right now and so I wanted to say hi.

I'd like to tell you so much more but, for now, I need to remember that
I'm at work and need to look busy. Sitting at a desk looking pensive
tends to prompt my boss to ask questions when he knows I'm busy so I'll
save it for tonight or tomorrow.

Hello Fox..

The group is very quiet ATM. I remember when there used to be 100
posts a day here.

Mike.

Not just this group. All over the shop. The bubble's burst and ISPs are
losing interest in hosting usenet.

I remember when I was sitting on my computer counting the minutes
before I'd reconnect my dialup connection every 5-10 minutes to get the
next barrage of 20 or so posts and then rapidly disconnect. Those were
the days.

Who is still around? M@? Carl? Thorn, Jinx, Trin? The news server I'm
on (bog standard ISP) hasn't gone too far back and there's plenty of
spam for me to miss all the familiar names.

I really need to get this news client up and running, I miss the old
Forte Agent newsreader with my 50 random sigs with quotes and so on.

Not seen M@ in forever. Carl doesn't seem to be around on the interwebs,
but Morgana/Helen, Jinx and Trin are around on Facebook and LJ. So is
Thorn, but much less frequently.

How's the chaos working out for you?
