seperation
Apart from the spelling crisis moment, I have been pondering this
notion, specifically between genreations.
I'm wondering, have we been spoiled lately with our specialist
magazines and television and whatnot, have we tended to split into
groups more readily?
What's set me off wondering this evening is watching a bit of 'The
Story of Jackanory' which was on the other evening. The producer
remarked that there was a significant eavesdropping audience at
teatime (quarter to five), which made me wonder if that still happens.
It was particularly about television and the fact that not only would
the kids likely be watching a kids channel now, they'd probably have
their own tellies and so on, but I was led to wonder, do we (as a
country) compartmentalise more things these days? Have we taken to
abusing the luxuries of personal space and easier access to personal
interests?
