English heritage at risk

Thoughts? (Apart from the fact that the article is about one country
only) Which comment do you agree more with - we should let it all fall
down, or we should shore it all up?

How about do both, and look at each case on an individual basis, and
decide sensibly. Not all 'listed' stuff is born equal, iyswim.

I can see me losing many hours if I stay on the At Risk site too long.

I may be biased, but the Scottish one's even more tempting...

Which is a good point. I still haven't waded through the list on the
relevent site, but the impression I got from that article of English
Heritage uttering cries of 'Big houses... castles... oh! battlefields!
Henges! Stones! Places where things used to be!' were bemusing me a
little. <g> If we kept them all as they were soon there'd be nowhere
for the living to go.

It's not, it's depressing. :-/ And this is before I look at it again.
Don't know why a building should matter so much, really, but I always
feel a bit glum if a good'un disappears.
<clickety> Ooh, spiffy update to the site though, last I looked it was
still old and clunky.
Oh dear. I *was* going to sleep... <looks through list of local
properties>
