Eh, no problem, if you hadn't found it yourself I could have rooted around
ntl's homepage. Nice to see you back :)

Hello Trin ~~~~~ ( thats a wave.)

Well. yes, I am on a diet at the moment and loosing a little weight. S.O.
is in a wheelchair now and really enjoys being pushed around. Pain is
controlled with morphine and the cancer seems to be quiet, but the osteo
arthritis is nasty. And alas, incurable.
Otherwise things are OK, the garden is frighteningly lush and overgrown,
seemingly within a period of three weeks. From nothing to jungle.
Nice to be in touch with sensible people again.

Nah, minor ripple that... /\^/\^/\^/\^/\^/\^/\^/\ <= tha's a wave ;)

Just don't lose too much else there'll be nothing to hug!

> S.O. is in a wheelchair now and really enjoys being pushed around.

Not good to the being in a wheelchair, but definitely good to enjoying
being pushed around. My poor Mom had to fight for years to get my Nan
to let herself be pushed around in hers - then again, she's always
been a stubborn sort, and I'm sure us grandkids were the only ones who
ever could push her around - and then we lost ot to the great
grandkids. <mumble mumble mutter growing up blah mutter mumble>

;)

Good too both, and may it stay quiet for long to come.

> but the osteo arthritis is nasty. And alas, incurable.

*nods* I have absolutely no idea how bad it can get, having never
experienced it myself, but I've seen the look of the pain hitting in
others. *hugs you both*

Hehe. Tell me about it. I was a horrible cheat with the back garden,
and doused it liberally with that hyper nasty weed killer that kills
off EVERYTHING (even Japanese Knot weed, so it says) because I'm too
lazy to deal with it - but the front garden looks wonderful, with
thistles and nettles and some yellow thing that I'm not sure what it
is all having sprung up recently. I'm also really happy that the
poppy's have come back with a vengeance, although it looks like we
succeeded in eradicating the chamomile. :(

*looks around* Oi Jani, Halla, Jackdaw's talking to you two. <gd&r>

<chokes on drink> It's lying. I'll bet you it's lying. :-)

That's a terrible curse, where is it from.
And.. how long before the whole lot happens here?
 ( Looks around Britain )
Yup, nearly there.

Ooh, now you're asking. <thinks> The Morrigan, Badb to be more
precise. <thinks again> That's not more precise at all really. It's
from Badb.

Strangely enough I'd not thought of that as a curse. More a prophecy.
It's made me think about the link between those two things though. :-)

I read something recently, IIRC on a christian ng, about the definition of a
'prophet'. Not someone who predicts the future, which is the usual
definition, but someone who sees things as they actually are, and says so.
So, a prophecy is commentary on 'how things will be without deliberate
effort to change them' and a curse is ... uhm, disruptive headology intended
to produce a change which wouldn't have happened otherwise.

Not sure about the 'modest women' bit, though. Shouldn't men be modest as
well, if modesty's a desirable moral quality?

Someone who can always say 'I told you so'?

Why wouldn't both work the same way? Or would one have to curse the
future to make it turn out differently, like say making a curse that
caused a friend to win a contest they'd entered or something?

Or women possess valour?
