I have frequently thought that Islam is the kind of religion we would
have ended up with if Christ had given into Satan after the 40 days in
the wilderness: it is a development of legalism to the nth degree, it
denies the doctrine of original sin and the need for a saviour. It
also has no confidence in the eternal life of the believer, because
the moslem cannot enter into a relationship with 'allah'.

Mohammed is a false prophet.

Jesus, and only Jesus, is the way, the truth and the life.

That is possibly true.

That is definitely true.

Nevertheless, there are many Muslims who are devout and pious persons 
and I, for one, do not doubt their genuine relationship with God.
