Haiku
To continue the theme of sonopatterning with 'literary'
form, the simple underlying structure of the Japanese
5 7 5 Haiku (or it's US/English 3 5 3 or 2 3 2 forms)
can provide a useful vehicle set.
The Haiku itself has certain 'rules' of composition but
provided we stick to the basic rhythm we can use a
ONE POINTED feeling set such as to direct attention
towards the required sense associations.
I proceed by example:
1) 5 7 5 for poster for football dressing room
We want a set that refers to the underlying associations
of (say):
success, alertness, competition, controlled aggression,
skill, artistry, flair, determination, effort, strength, stamina,
fitness, speed, teamwork, acceleration as the set:
alert body fires mind
skill determining deep strength
success in teamwork
(yes, I know that it should have logically
read 'mind fires body', but the term
'alert body fires... ...mind' has better ambiguity poetically)
2) 3 5 3 for Green Room
Set of words that point to states elicited by:
calm, flourish, confidence, ease, humour, spontaneity
relaxation, quick wit, repartee, laughter, participation, sparkle (etc.)
calm humour
relax in laughing
sparkling ease
We can get far more focus than these by using longer
pattern - typical of Western Literary form - and I'll get
into that later if there's interest.
(I hope it becomes apparent that the use of language
in this manner relates to the 'rediscovery' by the NLP
community of what some people once knew as 'spell'.. or mantra)
