Windows WYSIWYG web authoring clients supporting ssh
Are there any decent & free windows web authoring tools, which can
connect via SSH to a unix based webserver?

My Google searches have not found anything, but perhaps I'm overlooking
some. Most seem to be stuck with ftp, which I thought was pretty much
dying now - and for good reason.

Yes, I know what you mean, I use SSH now for FTP as it is much better.
When I am not useing Cpanel to upload that is, which is a lot of the
time as I am behind a proxxy.
But as far as I know, the only tool that would be able to do that
would be Dreamweaver.
I would however suggest, useing a CMS or a dedicated FTP client, such
as CoreFTP from, http://coreftp.com
