How are people getting on with Google Chrome?
I'm curious to know what the first impressions of Chrome are from the
perspective of developers.

A few sites of mine which are fully W3C compliant don't appear to display
properly in Chrome, and for all the hype I don't really see much in the way
of major improvements, so I'm not desperately impressed.

Any other thoughts?

A couple of problems I've come across. Filling in text boxes on web forums
tends to go in fits and starts. The cursor and text doesn't keep up with
the typing. Also seems to be a lot of hard drive activity when it's open,
even with DNS pre fetching turned off, enough to make me wonder what it's
getting up to.

Generally, I like the clean looks and the tab with recent pages viewed.

With a few rare exceptions, I find that every page is 100% the same as
FF. Plus it's a hell of a lot faster and takes less memory.

The only major thing I'm missing is the print formatting options, but
it is a beta version - a bit like IE, but at least they're being
honest about the beta status ;-)

I would also like to see things like FF extensions so that I could
have selective J(ava)script enabling and code validation, but for now
I'll use FF for that.

JavaScript ("All Days In" at weekcalc.htm#WA) taking about 2 minutes in
IE7 at 3 GHz took about 12 seconds in Chrome at 1.7 GHz. In IE, that
required numerous clicks of "Stop running.No".

First-time page load from local disc (js-date0.htm) took respectively
219 ms and 67 ms.

It's a good idea to read the newsgroup c.l.j and its FAQ. See below.
