Who else uses Outlook Express here?
I've had a bug with mine which has pi$$ed me off for ages;
Most replies I make work fine; the > characters go down the side, but for a
couple of recipients only, on EVERY reply they will not appear!
Does anybody else experience this or do you all use dedicated Usenet
software?
Oh, and for some reason the auto signature gets placed at the top now.

Passing over the temptation to suggest that you get some decent software
...
<http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/> will sort you out.

It depends on what format the sender is using, whether his/her post is
broken into lines or flowed. This is flowed so even if it is longer than
one line it should only show 1 "> " mark at the beginning of any reply.
XanaNews is a news reader worth considering:
http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/delphi.htm
and scroll down on the left - it follows established standards unlike OE.

Both yours and Molly's reply okay, Chaddy's is one of the arse pains where I
have to enter all the indents myself.
I think it was just :Jerry:'s American enemy who was the other problematic
one.
I'll take a look at the news readers but I'm not up for paying a penny.

I've found this mostly with people who are using that excuse of a
Usenet/nntp server, namely Google groups - the problem is not your

Always done that AFAIA, it's to do with the fact that the OE
newsreader shares a lot with the OE the email program, it's very
common that *email* replies are placed above the quoted content.

Having just look at the above URL, I remember now, it doesn't work
with"Outlook", a bit of Googling found the correct URL for the version
that does work with Outlook,
<http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/outlook-quotefix/> (the URL give
on the oe-quotefix site doesn't go to the correct site...).

Sure it is â âÎicrosoft Îutbreak Îxcessâ cannot handle
Quoted-Printable (QP) correctly.
*You* have problems with âÎutbreak Îxcessâ, too.
You cannot even quote the line
1 ⬠= 100 ¢
correctly.

Did Andreas get you in a bad mood? Make yourself a cup of tea and a big

I'm off down the pub for a pool match soon, so don't expect any more posts
