UK host= no effect on google
Since getting a new my domain name held on a UK server last month I have
been temporarily using a 3 second delayed meta data redirect from
smashinguitars to allow regular visitors to see notification of the change
rather than a 301 redirect. (going to do that now)
But when I tested SERPs on Google I am getting the same global/local problem
with crackguitar.com as my Danish server; high on global, nowhere on UK.
Could this be because of the way Google found me (manual too)? Surely not.

Not sure how Google detects a UK site, but that one's not on a UK IP
number as it's not even from RIPE.

Hmm. Forwarded to support with a request for explaination (wanted a tool
before I did that).

"As mentioned in the post below, I am UK based, however my server is in
the US, and I too currently don't know how Google defines a UK site."
Well that's pissed all over that effort then. I was caught up in all other
details and never specificaly asked the geographical base as it was
recommended as a good UK server on here!!!
One hope left; I have the .co.uk address* as well, activate that as an
alias- would this alias still draw spiders in to read the .com content?
Going to try it anyway, wish me luck.
*That old plumber's site is on the Danish server, has a .co.uk, gets found
on UK search.
