Update #0: 2009-11-04 17:52 GMT
Looks like BT have finally identified the problems with their BRAS's
dropping and are deploying a fix due for completion Jan 2010
BT have said:
'We have been investigating an issue where an unpredictable outage has
been experienced with a single / random BRAS affected which blocks a
network facing GigE port.
This results in an End User session being dropped with an outage of
between 8 â 15 minutes which includes running a script every 5 minutes
to identify the bug ASAP so we can unblock the port.
We are in the process of implementing a fix which has proved successful
to date but it means we will need to reload the card containing the fix
which results in an outage of, in the region of 60 minutes. The plan is
to complete the overall exercise by early January 2010; however we will
strive to complete the exercise earlier.'
We will try to ensure that all planned works are posted as soon as we
receive them from BT.
