[Status] [info] Why so many outages reports on here
Posted at 2009-10-31 13:38 GMT by RevK
Update #0: 2009-10-31 13:43 GMT

If you are looking at AAISP as an ISP you may be concerned at the
number of outages reported on these status pages.

Please do not be alarmed. It is surprisingly common for there to be
major issues within BT and we are trying to report all of them on here
so that our customers know what is happening.

It seems that some parts of BT are not even aware of how bad things
have got, and our status pages are helping to make them aware. We're
always keen to work with BT to resolve issues, and getting past the
denial stage is a good start.

These BT issues are not specified to AAISP but affect other ISPs using
BT as well. Most of the issues we report relate to a specific area and
so a small group of people affected. Many ISPs will not report the
issues as they are often rectified quickly or because they do not have
the same level of monitoring that we have.

We believe some of the more recent issues have fixes that are being
rolled out, so we hope that we will see a decreasing in these issues
over the coming weeks.

Thank you for your understanding.[IMAGE]
