Datacentre hosting, anyone?
Hi All
I'm looking to host about 100 servers, switches, SAN,etc, nothing too
special, just typically 1U and 2U dell kit in a datacenter.
Or should I say two datacenters, with a 50/50 split of kit. I need the
datacenters close enough so that the GBit link I need between them isn't
prohibatively expensive, but a few miles apart, and it also needs to be
outside the M25. The provider also has to be BS7799 etc, have remote hands
and generally be top notch.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks All..
Colin

I'd suggest having one datacentre in docklands (e.g. telehouse) and one
outside, perhaps the IX Europe facility @ heathrow?

I can't think of another decent datacentre outside the M25, apart from
Newbury - www.altohiway.com and the MCI place in Reading.
You could use datahop: http://www.datahop.it/services.php?a=1 for the
gig-e link. Abovenet also have fibre from central london to IX Europe.
cheers

IIRC they have one D/C in/near Egham and another at Reading.
If you use two D/Cs from the same provider you should be able to negotiate
a substantial discount on your link.
