blueyonder/telewest/virgin
I've been wading though Virgin's pages, trying to find technical
details of the IP service on a cable modem service formerly from
blueyonder, but can't find anything. Trying to find things like
DNS server addresses, timeserver, SMTP server, etc.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm trying to get a system all configured and ready to work
before taking it to site.

Asking that in ng uk.net.providers.ntl may be more rewarding.

Or not, as exBY isn't exNTL. The POP, SMTP, and NNTP servers are different,
certainly, and I couldn't say for sure what they are on the BY side.

I inferred uk.net.providers.ntl was functionally uk.net.providers.virgin
as a consequence of the merger of NTL into Virgin Media and with all NTL,
Telewest Blue Yonder and Virgin broadband services under common ownership.
My apology if that is incorrect.

I suppose functionally it could be, but I don't know if any ex-BY people
read the group, as it it wouldn't seem relevant to them.
