Looking for some web hosting recommendations.  I host two small sites 
with php/mysql based forums and a wiki.  I also presently have a single 
vanity domain which I dump random stuff on when I want to link to it 
from other places.

The two small sites are important to both me and the people who read 
them, they generate less than 4GB of traffic a month and take up less 
than 500MB of disk space.

I would like,

1. a solid, quick, reliable host for whom web hosting is a primary 
revenue source
2. shell access (ssh) with the ability to run cron jobs and basic shell 
functionality (i.e. rather than just a restricted shell which let's me 
see just the web pages)
3. mail handling for the relevant domains, although features in this 
area are nice I'm happy if the mail just gets delivered reliably, I can 
do stuff at this end if I need to.

I'm interested in personal experience based recommendations, for 
companies which cover the above points.  I'm also interested in possible 
dedicated server options, a few friends have some sites and it might 
work out better for us to host them on a dedicated server rather than us 
all continue paying different hosts.

Any recommendations appreciated.
