Bye-bye ulm
In the unlikely event that anyone was wondering why I had stopped
posting to ulm, I hadn't - though I have now. Nothing I have sent to
the group for more than a week has made it as far as the moderation
queue. I gather that things are unlikely to improve until Richard
finishes rewriting the modbot, which doesn't sound like a simple job.
In any case, I have had enough of throwing my words of wisdom (or not,
as the case may be) down a black hole. To avoid pointless frustration,
I will not be reading the group either. I assume that someone will
post here when/if it is working again.

Well it is the new code that is apparently broken :(

This post 86456 did reach the modbot and was auto moderated and yet I
cannot see it in uklm. This is very very worrying as the new code was meant
to be better :(

I will change it to multipost

I have never understand why people get so paranoid about this
information. The sort code and account number appear on every cheque
you write. You should assume that they are public knowledge. Knowing
them will not, short of serious malpractice by your bank, enable
anyone to obtain any confidential information.

A whole bunch of my posts have now appeared, having been hung up
somewhere for up to five or six days. People are now doubtless
wondering why I am duplicating information supplied days ago by
others. Still, this is progress - I will stick with it and see how
things go.

Yes sorry I should have said, that was me; I went to the history and found
about 5 that hadn't posted so I posted them :(

We now post though supernews and gradwell and I am still looking for a
third free, preferably, place that I can post the articles.

The post is with News::NNTP and just needs reader access.

No that is a repost through gradwell, the original went in to supernews.

I recently had a post that languished on the modbot for over five & a half
days, I brought it to the notice of the mods. & Richard 'pushed' it through.
Despite that it failed to appear (on my screen at least), due to a failure
to propagate. I don't feel I'm able to contribute a great deal to the group
but I do value your contributions Don & hope you'll persevere through what,
I have no doubt, is just a temporary situation.

Regards.
