the data

Comments:
1. if anything from this sample is missing from a server it means
something after the mod process *and* the gradwell injection isn't
working closer to your end; they all got to news.demon.co.uk [1]
[1] that is not an absolute in missing posts but can be in
received posts.
2. if your post hasn't appeared check
http://moderation.org.uk/3displayulm.php
as there were some rejections; fortunately still no-one on auto-reject.
3. if your post wasn't rejected and didn't appear you have a separate
problem called "why aren't my posts getting to the moderators?"; that is
separate to what I am commenting on.
4. I'd like to thank RA for eventually getting around to noticing there
was a problem and fixing it in a practical way (no PGP signing [2])
[2] there may be a left over issue there but since the
moderation system as a whole (not just the ulm bit) can be
fooled by a deliberate person when PGP signing is in place I'm
not sure it will be missed much as implemented previously.
5. I'd also like to thank other people who stuck with the issue
throughout; I know I said some bad words but I found it very frustrating
getting the message across to RA and felt I had to get other people
involved and thinking about it so he would realise there was actually a
problem he could solve.

Was that an apology for broadcasting that you had thought Richard was
brighter than to identify the fault as being in the Gradwell servers?

I think the answer is no.

Maybe not quite yet.
At least Post Ids 30611, 30614, 30616 (all man-accepted) plus 30617 (that
one an auto-post) have been reported lost by just two posters in ulm over
the past couple of days.

And a few more that went un-noticed
Usual rules, received from

Some sums:
in the last two weeks
701 messages went through the mod system
677 reached news.demon.co.uk
13 went awol, detailed above (3 auto, 10 manual)
11 were rejected
===
701
Notes:
1) NIN seems to have had a brain fart a few days ago and the mod-system
shouldn't be blamed for that.
2) People might want to think about whether or not we have an acceptable
level of loss or if no loss is acceptable.
3) Obviously (2) will depend on the reader / writer. If the message was
important to the reader and got lost it wouldn't be acceptable, so, we
are back to RA making it work as expected :)
