In rec.ponds they have a problem with forgeries.
Why they cannot chase the buggers off Usenet is way beyond me, I haven't
really asked :)

In a proposed new moderated group they want a way of authenticating
posters.

One way might be as follows.

1) Only posts that have a header X-Email:  a.working.email.address would be
posted by the modbot, after moderation. The X-Email: header would not be
posted.

If the email address is in a database then the post goes forward for
moderation.

If the email address is deliverable then the post goes forward, if it
bounces it gets blacklisted.

It would be possible for the moderators to "blacklist" an email address.
No web mail email addresses would be allowed gmail, hotmail, yahoo etc

Just some initial thoughts.
