I am indeed a cyclist, in the sense that I own a bicycle and
frequently use it for local travel. By the same categorisation I'm
also a pedestrian, a bus-user and a train-user. I'm probably right
down near the bottom of urcm posters in terms of annual milage cycled
though. Cycling as a leisure activity isn't far up my list of desires.

With the exception of occasionally passing a stuck red light with
care[1] I believe that my cycling behaviour is universally in
accordance with the Highway Code (and frequently find myself thinking
imprecations at cyclists who, for instance, pass working red lights at
speed or endanger me on the pavement).
[1] Something which I could apparently do quite legally by
dismounting for sufficient time to pass the stop line, which wouldn't
actually make it any safer or obliviate the need to proceed with care
since other directions will have green lights

Do you own or drive a car? Are you an eco-activist?

Good for you.

I neither own nor drive a car, however this is more due to being an
inveterate city dweller (York then Cambridge) than any actual thought
about the environment. I have owned a car in the past (well,
actually, my wife was the owner of record), but it got used
infrequently and we didn't see the need to replace it when it stopped
working.
