Yes - well done - you have mentioned that you have a degree.

Can we all join in?
I don't have a degree, I just have degree level professional qualifications.
Very boring ones.

I don't have a degree - in fact I am barely educated.

Can't say I did - why would I? I have never assumed that having letters
before or after one's name was evidence of anything other than an ability to
pass exams. It is possible to have a PhD and still be a total fuckwit.

"BSc is bullshit, MSc is more shit and PhD is Piled Higher and Deeper"
as an LCGLI once told me. In his world, practical knowledge was a
good deal more useful than book learning.
This was a long time ago, though, back when polytechnics were still
called that.

Indeed - I think that Jackson said once that he had a PhD.

Whereas you think it is much more important to "know famous people".
How's the list of 'famous people I have met' on your web pages?
Whilst on bragging - I suppose someone saying that they were
recognised as a "thought-leader" is quite relevant.
On what subject was it that you said three famous organisations
recognised you as a thought-leader?

You obviously weren't - by anyone.
Or was there some very, very subtle point you were trying to make?

I dropped out of the Royal Veterinary College after a year. Is that
better or worse than actually having a degree in media studies (I
should like to make it clear that I do not actually have such a
degree, I just wondered whether I should feel socially superior to
someone who has)?

This *is* usenet. We can make whatever claims we like. But we're far more
likely to be judged on our posting history.
