Just to clarify: an email to the request address is responded to by the
UKV server automatically with a ballot paper and copies of both the
request email and ballot paper forwarded to the votetaker. Completed
ballot papers sent to UKV are archived on the server and forwarded to
the votetaker and the acknowledgements for these are done manually.

The only reason the votetaker sends out acknowledgements in batches is
he does not sit at the computer 24/7!

Nothing can be inferred from how long it takes to acknowledge a
particular vote.

Emails to the query address are dealt with first so you should have a
reply to a query within 12 hours or so (often much sooner but could
be slightly longer depending on the movements of the VT).

For the avoidance of any doubt: the query address is unfiltered except
for attachments containing a virus so no-one should have a problem
reaching the votetaker with a question or in case of difficulty.
